 Who Could it Be?
He studied art in London before returning to the United State to be a painter. His work even included the historic piece The House of Representatives. Helping to found the National Academy of Design, he was more interested in communications through electricity by the 1830s. The telegraph he built between Baltimore and Washington, D.C., first message was “What hath God wrought.” The message was transmitted in a series of dots and dashes named for him.
