 Who Could it Be?
In 1796, he commanded the French army in Italy. Three years later, he and his army conquered France and installed him as its leader. In 1804, he was named emperor. He hired artists and writers to promote and glorify his actions. His reign standardized French law and insured freedom and civil liberties. Most of Europe and Egypt were conquered by his armies before seeing defeat in Belgium. Today his presence is still part of France, and the inner walls of the Arc de Triomphe contains the names of his generals and famous battles.
